The School supports a wide and varied programme of events, from lectures and seminars to film screening and workshops. They are all - unless otherwise stated - free and open to everyone who wishes to attend.

The School of History, Classics and Archaeology is delighted to congratulate Dr Manuel Fernández-Götz, Reader in Archaeology, on winning the Royal Society of Edinburgh’s Thomas Reid Medal 2021 (Early-Career Prize in Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences).

The School was delighted to hear about an important new publication co-edited by Dr Linda Fibiger, Senior Lecturer in Human Osteoarchaeology.

The School is delighted to share that Dr Guillaume Robin has been awarded a British Academy/Leverhulme Grant to support ongoing excavations at Ossi in Sardinia.

A new online programme in Archaeology and Classics has recently been launched – MSc in Ancient Worlds.

In August and September students from the School of History, Classics and Archaeology took part in an 11-day fieldtrip to explore the multiple pasts of Macedonia. Join them at a free event to find out their experiences and conclusions about this significant area.

This academic year, 2019/20, the School of History, Classics and Archaeology is delighted to be celebrating the 300th anniversary of History at the University of Edinburgh.
