Edinburgh is home to several archaeology societies and organisations, including the lively student-run ArchSoc.

Student-led societies

The student-led Archaeology Society at the University of Edinburgh welcomes everyone with an interest in archaeology and offers a mix of academic and social events from lectures and museum visits to artefact workshops and hands-on fieldwork opportunities. Society of Antiquaries of Scotland

Outside the University, The Society of Antiquaries of Scotland holds regular lectures, and also hosts the annual Rhind Lecture, where an expert presents a detailed examination of an archaeological topic over one weekend. Fellowship of the Society is open to anyone with an interest in archaeology and history; applications are considered in late November.
