Dr Manuel Fernández-Götz has been appointed as a new member of the Young Academy of Scotland (YAS), with his term starting in January 2021 for a period of five years. HTML Image The Young Academy of Scotland is a membership organisation that brings together entrepreneurs, academics, business leaders, teachers and other professionals on projects that benefit Scotland and the world. It was established by the Royal Society of Edinburgh in 2011 to provide a platform for innovative young professionals to work together to address the most challenging issues facing society in Scotland and beyond. The Young Academy of Scotland is a part of a growing global network of Young Academies, and regularly engages with other young academies worldwide to share knowledge, support one another, and work on international projects. Dr Fernández-Götz, who has been a Fellow of the Young Academy of Europe (YAE) since 2017, stated: “I am delighted to join the Young Academy of Scotland and I look forward to contributing to the organisation’s aims and vision”.
