Classics at Edinburgh studies the ancient Greek and Roman world and its lasting significance for our current world. Classics has been taught at Edinburgh, the Athens of the North, ever since the University was founded in 1583. Our uniquely designed programmes offer a comprehensive take on the ancient world and its reception; our team of over 40 classicists engages in world-leading research and offers exceptional, research-led teaching.
