My degree developed confidence, time management skills and organisation skills.

As a city Edinburgh afforded endless opportunities to get involved with creative industries and the University was the perfect environment to study history. Getting involved with Retrospect was the highlight of my time at university – from 24-hour magazine projects to launch parties.

My degree equipped me with excellent research, writing and analytical skills and this has prepared me well for my role in regulation.

I didn’t have a clear career path when I was studying – and I still don’t – but I applied to Ofcom’s graduate scheme to experience different roles in the organisation and find out more about what I wanted to do in the future. My working life is very fulfilling due to the variety of work and opportunities available at Ofcom.
