Classics academics from the School will lead sessions for pre-university students in Classics and Classical Archaeology in partnership with the Channel Talent. On Tuesday 29 April, Dr Donncha O’Rourke – Senior Lecturer in Classics – will present an interactive talk entitled ‘Virgil the Roman historian?’, and on Tuesday 13 May Professor Ben Russell – Professor of the Archaeology of the Roman Empire – will cover ‘Barbarians in Roman visual culture – Diversity and subjugation’.Channel Talent sessions are live, online (Zoom) and free for groups of students or individuals to take part in, whether from their school or home. Designed for students aged 16+, they can support current study and give an insight into university-level study.
