All our students have access to the University of Edinburgh's award-winning Careers Service and the School's dedicated careers consultant. The University Careers Service is housed in purpose-built premises on the third floor of the Main Library. At the School of History, Classics & Archaeology we have our own dedicated careers consultant, who works for the Careers Service but specialises in offering guidance to students within our three subject areas. Our careers consultant can provide impartial, independent and confidential advice to students from day one of their studies and for up to two years after they have graduated. We offer guidance on every career-related topic, including: career opportunities during and after university information on the graduate labour market employment and training organisations work experience and internships part-time and vacation employment Our Careers team also runs regular talks and workshops on: finding work how to write your CV interview techniques further study options advice for international students. Meeting with our Careers consultant From the day you arrive at Edinburgh, you will be able to make use of the Careers Service and meet with our dedicated consultant. We encourage our students to utilise the Careers Service throughout their studies, and not simply in their final year. An appointment with our Careers consultant typically lasts for 20 to 45 minutes. During this time you can ask any questions related to the subject of careers. Careers resources In addition to speaking with our consultant, you can make use of our careers events and online resources. The University hosts 10 careers fairs and hundreds of workshops every year.
