From article publication to beginning a PhD, just two achievements from our online MSc in History graduates

The School of History, Classics and Archaeology was delighted to announce the winner of the 2018 Jeremiah Dalziel Prize for British History.

The School was delighted to hear that Bill Smith, a graduate of the Online MSc History course, has been recognised for his work away from his studies.

Applications are invited for Leverhulme Early Career Fellowships in Archaeology. Deadline for applications is 3 December, 2018.

The Edinburgh University Archaeology Society annual fieldwork fair will be in full swing today in Teviot Debating Hall.

Professor of Classics, Douglas Cairns, has been elected as a Fellow of the British Academy in the largest cohort of new Fellows in its 116-year history. (Published 20 July, 2018)

The School was delighted to hear that Honorary Fellow Dr Alison Sheridan has been awarded the 2018 Grahame Clark Medal from the British Academy. (Published 20 August, 2018)

The 2017 Society for Renaissance Studies essay prize has been won by Dr Sarah Cockram, Teaching Fellow in Early modern European History. (Published 19 July, 2017)

Dr Miranda Anderson joins Royal Society of Edinburgh's Young Academy of Scotland. (Published 10 July, 2018)

Morna Renwick, a third-year History MA (Hons), will present her Carnegie Trust Vacation Scholarship research on St Cuthbert at a public event on Friday 29 June. (Published 25 June, 2018)

The British Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies is delighted to host the 15th International Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies Congress at the University of Edinburgh in July 2019.

Mara Karell was awarded ‘Best Oral Presentation’ at the fourth Scottish Student Forensic Sciences Research Symposium in Dundee. (Published 4 June, 2018)

Staff of the Archaeology subject area are co-authors on two papers on ancient DNA in the international journal of Science, Nature. (Published 22 February, 2017)

It is with great sadness that the School of History, Classics and Archaeology announces the death, on 24 January 2018, of Nicholas Phillipson, Emeritus Reader in History and Honorary Fellow at the School.

The School sends warmest congratulations to Professor Louise Jackson who, as part of a team with Professor Adrian Bingham, Dr Lucy Delap and Dr Louise Settle, won the Royal Historical Society Public Debate and Policy award on Friday 26 January. (Published 29 January, 2018)
