First of programme of events exploring the ways in which we discuss and commemorate the lived experience of the Second World War - 11 January 2019.

The second annual Scottish Student Archaeology Society Conference will take in Edinburgh on 26 and 27 January, 2019. The deadline for submissions is 5 January 2019.

As part of the collaborative research project The Matter of Slavery in Scotland - in partnership with National Museums Scotland - the first public lecture will consider Scotland's slave trade involvement through mahogany furniture.

"Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori." Dr Gorgia Proietti takes Wilfred Owen's reading of the famous Horace' sentence as a starting point for a few methodological remarks concerning current comparative research on war and post-war experience on 6 December, 2018.

The 2nd Annual International Graduate Edinburgh Byzantine Conference will be hosted by the Late Antique and Byzantine Studies Research Group, in collaboration with the Alwaleed Centre, 30 November-1 December 2018.
