The only PhD scholarship in the UK devoted to modern Irish history – The Justin Arbuthnott PhD Scholarship in Modern Irish History - is unveiled. (Published 30 November, 2017) The School is very pleased to announce a new scholarship for PhD students – The Justin Arbuthnott PhD Scholarship in Modern Irish History. This has a value of £15,000 per annum, payable for a maximum of three years, subject to satisfactory progress. It is the only PhD scholarship in the UK devoted to modern Irish history, and will be awarded to an outstanding PhD applicant proposing in modern Irish history at the University of Edinburgh.
