Research students in the School recently enjoyed a weekend away to the Burn in Aberdeenshire (Published 28 April 2015). Staff and doctoral students travelled to the Burn, a beautiful late-eighteenth-century country house near Edzell for a residential retreat.Over three days from 17-19 April the group introduced their research, discussed some of the successes and challenges of PhD life and shared some practical advice on research and writing.Above all, the retreat provided a chance to relax for a few days in pleasant surroundings and in the company of like-minded academics.
