LGBTQ+ History Month - Film screening: 'Framing Agnes'

This award-winning documentary brings to life a series of discussions between trans clients and Dr Harold Garfinkel at UCLA in the 1950s and 1960s. Based on original transcripts found in a filing cabinet, the film combines re-enactments and interviews with historians such as Jules Gill-Peterson (author of Histories of the Transgender Child, 2017).

This screening is open to all University of Edinburgh staff and students. Please register at the Eventbrite link. BYO cinema snacks! The film will start at 4:15pm.

Organised in conjunction with Dr Kate Davison’s 4th year Special Subject, ‘“Sexperts” and Scientific Publics in the Global Twentieth Century’.
