We will consider the depiction of Livia in ‘I, Claudius’ (in the BBC series) and Poppaea in ‘The Sign of the Cross’.

This will tie in with the Honours course (Monsters, Murder and Mayhem: Biography in the Ancient World (CLTR10014)) on ancient biography being taught in the second semester.
