Symposium: 'Classical literature in the Renaissance' Thanks to generous funding from the Royal Society of Edinburgh, this one-day symposium will take place at the University of Edinburgh on Tuesday 9 June on the theme of Classical literature in the Renaissance. Speakers will include Dr Stuart Gillespie (Glasgow), Professor Sarah Knight (Leicester), Professor Marianne Pade (Aarhus), and Professor. Leah Whittington (Harvard). The event will also include a round-table discussion featuring the speakers along with Professor Emma Buckley (St Andrews), Dr Syrithe Pugh (Aberdeen), Professor Jill Burke, Dr Richard Oosterhoff, and Dr Luke Houghton (Edinburgh), and there will be an opportunity to view a display of manuscripts, incunabula, and early printed texts in Edinburgh University Library.Attendance is free but registration in advance is requested.
