'Crossing Currents': History PGR Conference 2026 'Crossing Currents' is a hybrid conference featuring current postgraduate researchers in History at the University of Edinburgh. Presenters are either in the early stages of a PhD or approaching completion of a MScR. Each will give a 15-minute paper on part of their research and participate in a Q&A session for their respective panel. All papers will respond to established and emerging debates in historical research, and many combine perspectives from several disciplines, to make an original contribution to conversations in and out of academia. The conference will address themes of power, economy, mobility and communication, from seventh-century Northumbria to the late-twentieth-century United States, via fifteenth-century Bohemia and eighteenth-century Jamaica.All are welcome to attend this conference, in Meadows Lecture Theatre or on MS Teams, and are encouraged to register in advance, via the attendee registration form, at link.
