Centre for the Study of Modern Conflict presents: Andrzej Wajda, a retrospective - Ashes and Diamonds

'Ashes and Diamonds' (1958), based on the 1948 novel by Polish writer Jerzy Andrzejewski, completed Wajda's war films trilogy. It is considered by film critics to be one of the great masterpieces of Polish cinema and arguably the finest Polish realist film, cited by directors such as Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola as a favourite.

The film will be introduced by Dr Pasquale Iannone, film scholar. This event is free and open to the public. No tickets required.
