The Scottish History Postgraduate Network is an academic and social forum for postgraduate students (taught and research) at the University of Edinburgh working on any aspect or period of Scottish history. We pursue an active interest in combining interdisciplinary perspectives in the study of Scotland's past, so invite postgraduate students from all schools and departments at Edinburgh to join. WelcomeThe network meets throughout both semesters for a varied programme of academic and social events. Typically, we gather once every three to four weeks, immediately prior to the Scottish History research seminars, with many members attending the seminar afterwards. In previous years, we have read and discussed published work in Scottish historical research, hosted a research relay on current projects, and participated in pub quizzes on and off campus. Additionally, we may organise writing retreats, day trips, and other events responding to members' needs.News of forthcoming events organised by the network, or relevant to its interests, is circulated to a mailing list.To join the mailing list, or request further information about the Scottish History Postgraduate Network, please contact the Co-Conveners: Kim Jones (kim.jones@ed.ac.uk) and Josh MacRae (joshua.macrae@ed.ac.uk).Semester 1DateSubjectVenueTimeThu 24 SepWelcome Event - new and returning members are invited to an introductory session to share ideas for the network's activities during semester 1 and beyond.G.10, Doorway 4, Old Medical School2pm-3pm Follow the School You can keep up with the latest School news, events and developments by following us on Instagram, Bluesky and Facebook.
