POSTPONED - The McFarlane Global Scotland Conference: 'Scottish Historians and Transatlantic Slavery'

Due to unforeseen circumstances the McFarlane Global Scotland Conference virtual event due to take place on 28th January has been postponed.

We will be in touch with you as soon as revised dates are confirmed and re-advertising commences.

We look forward to you joining us then and sharing more on the McFarlane Global Scotland Conference series.

The School of History, Classics and Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh is proud to host the first event to introduce the McFarlane Global Scotland Conference, generously supported by alumnus Alan McFarlane. This virtual event will set the conversation and vision for the full conference which we aim to host in Edinburgh in June 2022.

This event - 'Scottish Historians and Transatlantic Slavery' - will be chaired by Professor Ewen Cameron, Head of School, History, Classics and Archaeology, University of Edinburgh and will bring together gifted academics Dr Stephen Mullen, University of Glasgow, to give his paper ‘Centring Transatlantic Slavery’ and PhD fellow Matthew Lee, University of Aberdeen to present his response.

At the end of the discussion, our panelists will be pleased to take questions from the audience.

This event is free and open to the public and a link to join the live event will be emailed to registered attendees in due course

If you would like to submit a question in advance, would like to hear more about The McFarlane Global Scotland Conference or have any accessibility requirements, please contact the organiser at alumni-hca@ed.ac.uk
