Film Screening: Athens from East to West, 1821–1896

As part of the programme of supporting events for the exhibition Edina/Athena: The Greek Revolution and the Athens of the North, 1821–2021, we are delighted to welcome director Maria Iliou to host a screening of her film Athens from East to West, 1821–1896, featuring rich archival imagery of nineteenth-century Athens and accompanied by expert commentary. Following the film, guests will have the opportunity to take part in a Q&A session, chaired by the University of Edinburgh’s Visiting A. G. Leventis Chair in Greek for 2021, Roderick Beaton.

Please use this facility to register for the event. As the capacity for this event is strictly limited, we kindly ask that you email elaine.philip@ed.ac.uk if you register but later find that you are not able to attend: your place will then be offered to another guest.
