Workshop - The Arusha Declaration @50 Image The Arusha Declaration @50 To mark the 50th anniversary of Tanzania's Arusha Declaration in February 1967, the Centre of African Studies and the Global and Transnational History Research Group at the University of Edinburgh are hosting a one-day workshop on the theme ‘The Arusha Declaration @50’ on Friday 24 February 2017. The aim of the workshop is to bring together researchers from across the Humanities and Social Sciences, to provide an interdisciplinary forum for discussion on the broad theme of ‘The Arusha Declaration @50’. We welcome papers relating to contemporary themes as well as those with a historical focus. Proposals from graduate and early career researchers are particularly welcome! The day will consist of panels and a roundtable, ending with a public talk. There will also be a guided walk around ‘Nyerere’s Edinburgh’, led by Tom Molony, author of Nyerere: The Early Years.
