About the lecture series

The events aim to question and re-inform accepted historical accounts.

Marking the First World War Centenary year, these lunchtime events will consider themes of conflict, culture and violence as they explore the impact of war across the world and throughout history, whilst also considering its influence in the present day.

Question and re-inform

Each of the academics will delve into contested aspects of history, calling upon historical evidence, strategies and interpretations to support their arguments.

The events will also be followed by interactive question and answer sessions, giving members of the audience a chance to voice their own opinions.

These events will offer new ideas about some interesting milestones in history, and in an entertaining way assess how convincing accepted historical accounts are.
