Your primary supervisor is your main point of contact for academic guidance and pastoral matters. Research students (PhD and MSc by Research) are assigned a primary and secondary supervisor. Your primary supervisor is your main point of contact for academic guidance and pastoral matters.Make an appointmentYour supervisor will contact you to advise how to make an appointment. This meeting should take place during Welcome Week, or as soon as possible the following week. This meeting will be used to complete your new students forms, assess your skills training needs, agree an initial working title for your research and set a preliminary schedule of study for your first year.Register for coursesYou may also be asked to register for certain courses - although these are not required for credit in the way they are for taught MSc programmes, we nonetheless need you to tell us about these by emailing the Postgraduate Research Office so you can access the relevant information and registration can be recorded. Please be aware that there is a maximum number of courses that you will be permitted to take in each academic year and College concessions may be required. Further information can be found in the Postgraduate Degree Programme Regulations (sections 19-20). View your research supervisor's profile This article was published on 2024-08-01
